Charles Breton is the Executive Director of the Centre of Excellence on the Canadian Federation at the Institute for Research on Public Policy, a role he has held since 2019. His research focuses on Canadian politics, comparative public policy, and public opinion. His work has been published in leading academic journals including the Canadian Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and Comparative Political Studies, as well as in applied outlets such as Policy Options and national newspapers.

Prof. Irene Bloemraad is Co-director of the Centre for Migration Studies and Chair in Global Migration at the University of British Columbia. Her research explores how immigrants become incorporated into political communities and the consequences of migration on politics and understandings of membership. Working at the intersection of migration studies and political sociology, her work takes a strong interdisciplinary and international perspective. Before joining UBC, she held the 1951 Chair in Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, where she directed the Berkeley Interdisciplinary Migration Initiative. Prof. Bloemraad was trained in the United States (PhD at Harvard) and Canada (MA & BA at McGill), and has held visiting appointments at the Trinity College (Ireland) and the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands).
Director of the Institute for Research on Migration and Society and Research Chair on the Politics of Immigration at Concordia University
Mireille Paquet is a political scientist and associate professor in the Department of Political Science at Concordia University, where she holds the University Research Chair in Immigration Policies. Her research focuses on comparative immigration policy, particularly the role of bureaucracies, public attitudes, and technology in shaping immigration systems in Canada and comparable countries like Australia, the UK, and the US.
She directs the Concordia University Institute for Research on Migration and Society (IRMS) and co-directs RQ3I. A member of the Royal Society of Canada’s College, she contributes to national and international policy forums. Her award-winning work has appeared in top political science journals, and she actively collaborates on several interdisciplinary research initiatives on immigration and integration.
